I am saddened by our loss of Fr. Konerman, S.J. He was the first Jesuit I met and deeply moved me to accept love, forgiveness and hope in my darkest moments. He was so hospitable, generous and had a knack for long stories. We are surely blessed to have had him touch our lives.

Father Ed was a true friend to our family at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Chicago, IL. Sports was his passion, and he was at many games. He helped whenever and wherever he could. He celebrated his 25th anniversary at IHM, and the event was well attended. All of my eight children loved this man and my daughter Sharon had the privilege of sharing her birthday with Father Ed. He was also at most of their weddings, and married a few of them. I met his family at his 25th anniversary, and wish to convey our sympathy to them all – he spoke of them many times. We will miss him, but hopefully will see him again in our later lives – Sincerely, Dianne Kippes (my husband is deceased)

My memories of Edward Konerman are one of an unassuming gentleman, who would take time to talk to a new member, like myself, as if they were long time members of the “guild” of theology. Ed was the kind of man who is the glue to any organization, as well as a scholar and example to us all. He will be sorely missed.
